The 1st Falkirk Beavers embarked on an exciting journey to Edinburgh this week, travelling by train to the renowned Museum on the Mound to earn their Money Skills badge.

The young adventurers delved into the fascinating history of money, discovering how people once used shells as currency and how banking practices have transformed over the centuries. They learned about the early days of storing money in vaults and how technological advances have revolutionised banking in modern times.

The visit wasn’t just informative; it was interactive too. The Beavers had the chance to get creative by designing and making their very own money-themed badges—a highlight of the day for many of the group.

The trip was a resounding success, blending hands-on learning with teamwork and exploration. Leaders praised the Beavers for their enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the experience.

Team member Chloe Krykant shared “It’s so important for young people to understand the value of money and how it has shaped the world we live in. This trip was a fantastic opportunity for the Beavers to learn and have fun at the same time.”

This memorable outing is just one of many activities designed to help the Beavers build practical skills and create lasting memories.
