A large part of Scouting is about giving our members Skills for Life. Last week the 16th Laurieston Cubs discovered how living with a disability can affect the way they take part in games and activities and the adaptions which can be made.
The Cubs wore eye masks which simulate vision impairment but by using a ball with an internal bell they were able to play several games. They also surveyed the Scout Hall, assessing its suitability for members with disabilities eg access to toilets, door opening widths etc.
The Cubs now have a understanding of challenges others may have in life
