If you had passed by the 40th Falkirk Scout Group headquarters in Bellsmeadow on a Friday evening recently, you may have wondered what all the banging and sawing was all about.  These members of the troop were busy with hammers, drills and saws making toolboxes from discarded chipboard and scrap copper pipe for the handle, saving it all from ending up as landfill.
This fulfilled their Creative Challenge badge – to create an item from wood.  It also covered the safety part of the DIY badge as they discussed the risks involved with the use of hand and power tools.
